services

Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation

A detailed 60–90 minute intake to understand your history, symptoms, strengths, and goals. We review prior treatments, medical history, and current stressors to arrive at a thoughtful diagnostic picture and treatment plan.

Ongoing medication management

Evidence-based prescribing for conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar spectrum disorders, and related concerns. Follow-ups typically last 25–45 minutes and include ongoing medical assessment.

Psychotherapy

Weekly or bi-weekly sessions that integrate psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and interpersonal work. We pay attention to both your current symptoms and the deeper patterns underneath them.

Consultation & second opinions

Consultations regarding diagnosis, complex medication questions, or treatment planning. Ideal if you already have a therapist or psychiatrist but want a fresh, specialized perspective.

how we'll work together

Collaborative & curious

You bring expertise on your life; we bring the clinical experience. Treatment decisions are made together, with clear rationales in alignment with your preferences.

Rooted in evidence

Recommendations are grounded in current research and clinical guidelines, while always tailored to your specific context, identity, and values.

Whole-person care

We look beyond symptoms alone – considering sleep, nutrition, relationships, work, physical health, family history, and meaning is key. Medication, when used, is one tool among many.

Responsive by design

As often as possible, we reserve same-week openings for new patients and maintain a regular cadence of follow-up. You’ll have a clear, reliable way to reach us between sessions for check-ins, timely adjustments, and on-demand answers to your questions.

fees & insurance

the light room is an out-of-network, fee-for-service practice. Payment is due at the time of each visit. Many patients receive partial reimbursement from their insurance using the detailed receipts (superbills) we provide.
